UNM Information Assurance Scholarship for Service Program

The UNM Information Assurance Scholarship for Service (SFS) Program is now accepting applications for scholarships to be awarded for study beginning in January 2016. All students studying accounting, computer science, engineering, and management information systems are encouraged to learn more about the program by visiting the following web sites and to contact Professor Stephen Burd for additional information as needed.

Deadline for Scholarships Beginning January 2016

Students must meet two deadlines to apply for the scholarship:

  • September 11 - Complete an application for or be already admitted to an UNM IA-related Master's program
  • September 18 – Submit all SFS application materials as described below

Application Materials

A complete application for the SFS program consists of the following items:

  • Transcripts from all colleges attended (unofficial transcripts are acceptable though official transcripts may be required if the candidate is selected as a semifinalist or finalist)
  • Banner ID number (only required for students who have or are currently attending UNM)
  • A 1-2 page statement of interest (may be included in email message with other application materials attached)
  • Current resume
  • List of three academic or professional references with complete contact information
  • Copy of social security card **
  • Proof of United States citizenship (Copy of passport or birth certificate) **

Transcripts, Banner ID number, statement of interest, resume, and list of references must be submitted by email to djtrujillo@unm.edu

** Deliver your social security card copy and proof of U.S. citizenship by one of the following methods:

  • In person to the Anderson receptionist (ASM building, second floor, west wing)
